I took my 7 month old ferrets to the vets because he was not walking right. His blood work came back fine. His xray was good. My neighbor boy dropped him yesterday so they think it is trama to his back. He is home he eats and drinks but is limp. They have him on pain meds and steroids. Do you think he will recover?

if the xray don't show a break - it's probably a sprain or perhaps inflamed nerves. you did right to bring him to the vet and i'm hopeful with the pain meds and steroids he will recover just fine. hopefully this was a lesson for the boy who dropped him too keep us posted!

I'm sure your little neighbor feels bad but sometimes these wiggly weasles just make it hard to hang onto them. Maybe next time he can sit on the floor to play with him. I would keep your ferret as confined as possible without stressing him out so that he doesn't hurt himself and gets lots of rest til he's better. Sounds like you're doing everything right... I hope he gets well quickly. Please let us know how he does.

How is he doing? I have a feeling he'll be ok. I hope so.
