and she seemed fine for a couple minutes but then started running Atkins frantically and puked a couple times. It was mucusy and yellow and clear. And now she seems fine and just wants to go to sleep. Idon't know if its because she's dying or because i just woke her up in the middle of the night. No emergency center in my area. HELP

*around frantically
i entered post on my phone
update: no more puking. i have just been laying with her monitoring her breathing. i keep kind of waking her up when she falls asleep. after a while, i gave her some peanut butter which she ate readily. she then got up and started following me around as usual and sniffing out stuff and being her normal self. i gave her some water and she drank that. no signs of the water or the peanut butter coming back up. she has yet to poop so we'll see what it looks like when she does. i put her back in her cage for the night and gave her lots of kisses and i guess i'll just have to wait and see in the morning. please send your good thoughts to my little Moz girl and her worried and terrible-feeling mother. and please, still feel free to leave any and all information you might have.

Hello
I know what you are feeling because I did that too. I stepped on my Roxy Heart shortly after getting her. I never step on anything on the floor now for fear of a ferret being under it.
I would get her to a vet immediately for an Xray. They'll be able to tell you where to go from there. The fact that she's eating and drinking is good but it's so possible something's wrong inside you need to get her checked.
Incidentally - why would you give a ferret peanutbutter? Ferrets are obligate carnivores which means they should ONLY eat meat.
Good luck and keep us posted.

I've done it twice. One required an ER visit, and the other was just like you describe. That was Moe, and he lived another 2 years. Moe puked and coughed for 5 minutes, then settled down and was ok. If you see blood in his pee or poop, or any abdominal swelling or discoloring, like bruising, you should get her to a vet ASAP.
Peanut butter is not good. Even cat treats (with chicken) are better.

She was fine today. Ate, drank, pooped and peed as normal. No swollen, discolored or achy belly. Walking fine and playing a usual. I dodged a bullet. II think about 5 years were taken off my life. And i only give her peanut butter as a treat and only a very small amount. The only other things she eats are EVO ancestral and

So glad everything is ok! Its really hard to own ferrets and never step on or kick them by accident. I'm amazed more don't get badly hurt that way. Thanks for letting us know

That's good news. We never wear shoes in the house for that reason.
