My two fuzzies have been acting more sleepy than normal. They also seem to be coughing and sneezing. Lance has always been a ferret who coughs once in a while and alot when he eats. But yesterday Arthur who never has any issues eating vomited a little. This morning they did come out for a bit to play and ate some soft food I made them but I am still worried because Lance has watery eyes and a runny nose. I am fighting a cold too so I am thinkin they caught it. ShouldI take them to the vet to be sure or is there a home remedy I can try.

Take them to the vet as soon as possible. Our little one got sick with the flu that she caught from us a few months ago and we thought that we would just wait and see how it goes. Ended up costing us more in the end and almost a month and a half of antibiotics and steroids to get it cleared up for her and still took a couple weeks after that for her to get back to her old self. There were a couple nights that I had to stay up with her because I didnt know if she was going to make it throught the night because she was having so much trouble breathing. Sooner is better... In the mean time get them some duck soup and supplements and try to keep them separated from any other ferrets that aren't showing any symptoms yet. Wash your hands before and after you pick them up or you may end up passing the bug back and forth. Good luck and keep us posted.

There isn't a home remedy that I know of and I think a visit to the vet would be best. Sending good thoughts and prayers.

ferrets can't catch a cold but they can get the flu and suffer from allergies. a vet visit is in order.
