Bubu laid down on the carpet and fell asleep... After a while I went closer and saw him laying there with his eyes open and his stomach was jumping, I lift him and he was like a rag doll, completely flacid, after a while I kept holding him he became aware and jumped off my arms to drink some water and ran sleep inside the closet where he usually does. He is with his eyes closed and seems to be sleeping ok. What do I do? I have my heart in my hand!!

I have been reading the internet and it seems this condition is called "dead sleep" seems to be common. He is soundly asleep now. But will keep an eye on him. OMG it really got my heart going...

oh i hate when they do that. Yes, it's called dead sleep and they can really scare you! I think he's okay - are you okay yet? Rylee has done this to me a few times - I'm not sure why sometimes they get into this very very deep sleep other times they don't - unless they do all the time but we're not checking them for it 24/7 Glad everything is okay

We have all fallen for it. Some of us have even gotten into the car and started to the vet when we get this surprise when they jump up and look around to see where we're going. Just check him in about an hour to be sure you can wake him and that he eats and drinks.

;D ;D ;D yes, we've all fallen for it . I took Tamma outside once to see if the cold air would revive her (she had done it before so I was suspicious) and her little nose started twitching. I like Barbara's description of having them jump up to see why they're suddenly being taken for a ride ;D

I was practically reaching for the phone to call the funeral home sort of thing Net result: the ferret was totally fine and I was a total mess for hours.

First couple of times this happened I almost lost my mind....I dropped poor Bonkers on the bed, & went running out telling my hubby he was dead...I went back picked him up shook him, called his name, & nothing...I finally went to put my ear up to his face to see if he was still breathing & I guess my hair tickled his nose, & Sleeping Beauty awoke with a big YAAAAAWWWWWWWWWNNNNNNNNNNN........& this stupid look, Like WTH did u wake me up for....Lol Lil Buggers....
