Hi, I have two hobs who are brothers from the same litter who have never been seperated from each other and have always played together and have both seemed to assert their own authority on each other until now! The problem now is that yesterday when I was out in the garden I heard a very strange squealing noise coming from the hutch they share and when I checked Victor (the smaller of the two) was holding Jack down by the back of his neck and was what appeared to be trying to mate with him. When I eventually managed to seperate them Jack ran straight up my arm and sat on my shoulder shaking while Victor was standing up to me until I asserted myself on him by making him submit but every time I put them back together Victor is doing it again and Jack seems very scared and submissive to this. I have now seperated them but am worried that if I put them back together Victor is going to end up killing Jack! Oh they are both about 8 months old.
Help please.

Yes one hob will eventually try to be the alpha and my understanding is unless they are neutered it can be dangerous. I have one hob but I keep in a separate space during season and he is my first. So far the season has been from the end of November until now. I'm hoping soon he will decide it's not time to mate.
