My 5 month old Co-Co has been sleeping a lot lately, but he's still playful just not as much as when we first got him. We got him 2 months ago and were told he was only a month old. Come to find out he is almost 6 months old. He is small for a 5 month old but,we think he was the runt maybe. I noticed his poo is a little runny but, not too bad. He is still eating and drinking but, I think he's not drinking enough and I'm staring to get worried. I'm currently looking for a vet for him and I'm gonna call one tomorrow and try to speak with a doc. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Did you change any of his food/treats? Ferrets almost always have issues with changes in their diet, including water. From work to home the change in water can give mine more runny poo. The important thing is to get a vet check. It's probably better to get a 6 month old than a 1 month old. That is way to young to be sold. Remember too, things are not as "new" as they used to be so maybe a little more restful times. But again, all ferrets need a vet check vaccinations, and then yearly vet visits. Hope this helps.

Do you have a water bottle or water crock for him? You said you were worried about his water intake so I would suggest having both on hand so he can choose which one he prefers. Individual ferrets definitely seem to have preferences when it comes to this subject! Keep us posted as to how he's doing.
