I adopted a 2 yr old male in nov 2010 he is so wonderful he cuddles and plays i never thought i could love a ferret so much Anyway, my bf and i decided to get another so we found a guy who wanted to get rid of his 7 month male so i went to meet him and the lil guy is so tiny no meat on his bones nails had never been cut the man told me he fed him 1 time a week and it was cat food, Omar is the ferrets name his pads of his feet were dry and red w/ no hair on them. I couldnt leave him so now i have omar an extremely affectionate guy cuddles and licks me all the time but he doesnt play with my bf or i he just wants to bite my other ferret (dexter) ears and he really hurts him an dexter who is 2 lbs bigger and 2yrs older does not defend himself he hisses screams and hides. i dont know what to do and omar keeps attacking dexter.
2nd question omar is eating the food we have which is marshall ultimate, and he poops all the time its a good color but its not formed poop. and he started growing the hair back on his feet and has gained a 1/2 lb but he still licks A LOT what does that mean.
Thanks in advance ;D

I'm so glad you didn't leave Omar with an idiot who thinks its okay to feel ANY animal once a week. Your new baby sounds traumatized and I would try to keep him away from Dexter for awhile and introduce slowly under supervision. And I would get Omar in for a vet visit to make sure there's nothing seriously wrong - but its probably all from neglect and abuse.
Let us know how things progress.

I'd suggest getting a simple cage to keep Omar in and maybe have it beside Dexter's to get them used to each other's smells. Gin beat on Jack a lot when we first got him and we did something similar. After that I'd hold Jack and let Gin come up and smell him every day for about two weeks. She still beat on him a little, but it was nothing to draw blood and was more a "I'm top ferret here!" beating. Two days and it stopped.
Omar may not know how to play yet and Dexter may be scared of him now.

Thank you for taking him in, and I know now he has found out all about love. Just try to keep them separate for a little while with slow closely supervised play time. Sometimes it just takes awhile for them to learn not to hurt each other. Have you tried giving tone? It's good for their hair and skin, it's an oil and will help moisturize

Omg im so sorry, me and my husband (we share the account) bought a ferret off of craigslist and she was in terrible condition, my heart goes out to you.
what I did for Patchy, was gave her alot of stuff to be in old shirts, towels and such. made sure she ate and drink, she gained a bit since i got her in my care, and Jinxil at first was hesitant, but they get along perfectly. hope all goes well for you & your fuzziebutt.
