I have in the past gone to a vet who had experience with ferrets a few towns over, she was OK but I'm looking for better. She just wasn't a nice person. Does anyone know of any good ferret vets in New York? I live in Westchester County, its about an hour north of the city. I'm willing to travel but I would prefer a local one in case of emergencies. In my search I've come across the Fine Animal Hospital in Bedford NY. They say they specialize in avian and exotics and their website indeed says ferrets I just haven't had a chance to get in touch with them as of yet. I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with them or anyone around this area. Thanks for the help. (hopefully

There's a great ferret vet in Westchester, Dr. Laurie Hess in Bedford Hills. Dr. Hess owns the Veterinary Center for Birds & Exotics, a state of the art animal hospital that treats only birds and exotic pets (no cats or dogs). Dr. Hess' information is: Veterinary Center for Birds & Exotics, 709 Bedford Road, Bedford Hills, NY 10507; (914) 864-1414; www.avianexoticsvet.com. You won't be disappointed!
