I'm not even kidding. I got a letter from my ferret vet (she used to be a zoo vet before starting a private exotic practice) stating that she decided to join the Peace Corps and run off to Samoa.
So, good for her, but umm....?
I need a good ferret vet in Northern Virginia. I don't trust most of the vets who say they "will" treat ferrets. I want someone who actually knows a thing or two about the little critters. My Peace Corps-joining vet recommended a vet that is a little too far away for peace of mind. I live in Arlington, VA, and with the way traffic is here, proximity to Arlington/DC is kind of important.
I really mean no disrespect toward the Peace Corps or my former ferret vet, but it just sounds really funny to me when I say, "My ferret vet ran off to join the Peace Corps," lol. I wasn't really expecting that letter.

Hi! I'm in Manassas so I doubt you want to come out here, but I use Deepwood Vet. Dr. Ryle treats exotic pets. Also, I think the ferret rescue is in your area, so they might be able to recommed a great vet. I think they're called Ferret or Ferrets First.
GL!

lexa76 I'm also in Manassas. I never thought I would find any one else on here from manassas. Ferrets dont seem to be to popular around here. I use Old Bridge veterinary Hospital in Woodbridge. tTey have the best prices I've found anywhere. He knows what he is doing and cares more about the patients than the money. He treated my little Tigger for ulcers and mites. The bill was only $63 for the meds, the apt fee and mite treatment. He didnt even charge me for the mite treatment
