Hello!
I saw the sticky posted above that lists a vet in Natick - does anyone go to any vets in Mass or Southern NH that they'd recommend? I've been to one so far but it doesn't seem they're anymore knowledgeable than I am
How about emergency vets that see ferrets?
Just trying to get things in line for when I need them.
Which will hopefully be never
Thank you in advance!

The rescue where I got Adrian took their ferrets to Mattapoisett Animal Hospital for all their check-ups and shots. The director of the rescue really liked them. I have a rabies certificate with their address and phone no. --- 91 County Rd, Mattapoisett 508-758-6400
That's quite a ride from here so she must have thought they were good.

Judy, Did you get your ferret from the MaFF shelter? Yes, Mattapoisset is very good for ferrets--also, my (and the shelter vet) totally Rocks...She was the one who diagnosed Loki after a 7 month fight with my prior vet.... Randolph Animal Hospital Dr. Susan Harrington 400 North Main Street Randolph, MA 02368 www.randolphanimalhospital.com/That is actually where our Ferret only rabies clinic is going to be this Saturday... but, feel free to come by even if your babies don't need their vaccinations--we are doing free ear cleaning and nail trimming--it's more like a health care day with rabies vaccinations available.. lol There are also a couple of emergency vets in the Boston area...the problem is, they have ferret experienced vets--but, they may or may not be on duty on when your emergency happens... When Goliath crashed I contacted Angell Memorial Hospital located in Jamiaca Plain... www.mspca.org/site/PageServer?pagename=aamc_AAMCBostonLandingpageIt was a sunday night and none of their Ferret experienced vets were on duty... So, then I called New England Animal Medical Center located in West Bridgewater www.neamc.com/aec.htmlAnd they had a ferret experienced vet on duty, so I went there. Around here, you are not going to find a 24 hour vet hospital that can guarentee a ferret experinced vet. But, in an emergency, if it was my only choice, I would be somewhat comfortable going to either one of the above (even if one of the ferret experienced vets were not available)

Michele...sorry I didn't see your post until tonight. I got Adrian from the RI Ferret Rescue & Relocation - which is now closed. It was run by a couple of college kids and the neighbors gave them such a hard time, they ended up not being able to get all the licenses and permits they needed. Such a shame - they were really doing a great job. They had probably 20 ferrets when we picked up Adrian, counting their own 5 or 6, and every single one looked happy and healthy. But on the positive side, I got Adrian and a bedding set all for $40... what a steal! She's such a sweetheart - everyone just loves her and she's been wonderful for Tamma
