they wanted $900 bucks for a check up? I find that really hard to believe.
ferret Vets in NYC will be a lot less as its illegal to own them there.

call the vet again and say "Hi. i have a ferret whos a bit under weight and looking sick. he eats fine, but i think i need a check up. how much will a visit be? what does it include?" you'll get a price for a check up(not all the tests) and you'll know what they will do.
